Burberry FW19 collection is called “Tempest” after the variations found in British culture and weather.
“I’ve been thinking a lot about England as a country of contrasts, from the structured to the rebellious and free, and I wanted to celebrate how these elements coexist” said Riccardo Tisci, Burberry maison creative director.
This is his second collection as Burberry creative director and he did achieve to impress. Two radically different show were built: gold invites were seated in a wooden formal theatre, silver ones were placed in the Tate Tanks’ brutalist hall while a clan of kids in hoodies climbed around the steel that caged all the audience.
Chic Room got grime and rap music, and Street Room got classical music. Again, contrast.
Girl, Boy, Lady and Gentleman are those whose the whole collection was made for. Girls were dressed in oversized informal garnements, Boys in Streetwear staples and tape details.
The second part of Tisci's collection for Burberry show was followed by beige formalwear: Ladies in Trenches and Gentlemen in suits, of course.
